We launched Credas in May 2017 – with our aim to develop groundbreaking facial recognition software to help speed up identity verification for companies across a wide range of sectors.
In our first year, we have made some significant achievements. Starting with two employees, we now have a team of 14 staff and are currently recruiting for Account Management and Sales roles.
We have over 50 customers using all or part of our facial recognition technology, across the estate agency, accountancy, legal, recruitment, and construction sectors.
We have also secured our first cryptocurrency client, heralding a move into another new sector.
We have formed great partnerships with the ESTAS (The Estate Agent of the Year Awards) and The Guild of Property Professionals, as well as securing a place on the shortlist for the Wales Technology Awards – Sir Michael Moritz Start-up of the Year and Innovative Product of the Year categories.
This month, we have also been shortlisted in three categories for the Wales Online Digital Awards – Best Mobile App, Best Digital Start-Up, and Best Merging Technology categories.
Credas’ CEO Rhys David said on the anniversary;
It’s been an exceptional year for us and we’ve managed to surpass all expectations we had for our first year in business. We’ve got a great team in place, and behind it all is a great product – we really believe we have developed the best facial recognition technology in the marketplace and are fulfilling a business need.
Facial recognition can help any business where a customer needs to be ID’d and we’ve developed a quick and easy way to help businesses fulfil this, with the peace of mind that they’re compliant and that the data is fully secure. I’ve been really excited about the technology since day one and it’s been even better to see it integrated into different sectors. We have also just secured our first cryptocurrency client which is another exciting area of development for us and the technology.

Credas’ technology works in a range of sectors, including recruiters, mortgage and finance providers and any business which needs to verify ID to comply with regulations. It can help companies comply with Right to Rent, anti-money laundering, modern slavery, know your customer and anti-fraud legislation.
