What is DIATF certification?
The DIATF is a new UK Government initiative that aims to increase trust in Digital Identities through the introduction of a certification standard for Identity Service Providers.
IDSPs can only be certified against the framework after being rigorously assessed against the requirements set out by the government which includes examination of their technology, security and processes.
The purpose of the new certification is to give both businesses and the public peace of mind that they are they using the best technology available.
Do I need to use a certified IDSP for my ID checks?
Currently, the Home Office recommends that landlords, their agents, and/or employers use an IDSP certified against the Framework for Right to Work and Right to Rent checks.
For businesses such as Estate Agents, Conveyancers and Accountants to who the Money Laundering Regulations apply. It is recommended that when using an IDSP ‘it is accredited to give identity verification services through a government, industry or trade association process that involves meeting minimum standards.’
